The Good People of Harlem Speak on Barack Obama--The Wisdom of the Masses is Clear....and They Are Quite Confused

Wow! Political Science in action--we should make a t-shirt or two or three with that slogan emblazoned on the front.

I guess the research which suggests that voters are ill-informed, make poor choices (more often than not), and many don't know what their candidate's actual issue positions are--folks be confused-- is in fact correct.

One more reason why I don't think all folk need to have full access to the franchise. But, it is another reason to be hopeful for our democracy as low information voters are common across the color line.

All I can say is I LOVE IT!!! I am absolutely blown away by your analysis & commentary. The context of historical quotes, the multiple links to alternate web sites, & the videos (can't forget the videos). Again, I LOVE IT!!! I was born & continue to live here in the Deep South. I hear & see the venile racism that exist on a daily basis. Yet, in the face of it all, I am viewed, by Whites and the Black folks that support them without question, as a "RESPECTABLE NEGRO". In case noone else has the intestinal fortitude to tell you, I am extremely proud of the work, and it is work, that you do. Thank you for letting me know in a very real since that I am not alone in my political, social, & economic thought process.
Respectfully,

Goodness...I wonder what their response had been if the interviewee asked them about their polling locations? The liquor store, gas station, or local beauty shop?! I don't know whether to be embarrassed, amused, or discouraged! I actually admire Stern for being courageous enough to host this. Perhaps the brown folks of Harlem will hear it and ask themselves a few questions about their roles/responsibilities in the political process...

Folks know where to vote--the check cashing spot.

More seriously, I am sure if they did a similar experiment with other low information voters, i.e. Palin supporters, the findings may very well be the same.
